The cat is finally out of the bag. Microsoft announced the release of the much-awaited Windows 10 from July 29, 2015 in 190 markets globally. This will be available as a free upgrade to customers running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The latest offering from Microsoft, Windows 10 is set to cost anywhere from $110 for the Windows 10 Home package to $199 for the Windows 10 Pro edition. Furthermore, a Windows 10 Pro Pack will allow users upgrade from Home to Pro for $99.

In context of shipping, Windows 10 will ship on July 29th, 2015 which means - the free update program will expire precisely on July 29th, 2016. So Windows 7 and Windows 8 PC owners, get ready to update your computer for free to Windows 10 Mobile, Home or Pro.

With Microsoft announcing the release date of Windows 10 on July 29, the company has made it available for the Windows 7 and Windows 8 device owners to already start reserving their free upgrade. It’s not that complex at all. All you have to do is sign up for the upgrade, and then wait for it to be automatically downloaded on the computer.

The upgrade system will also confirm whether the PC meets the hardware requirements for Windows 10. Although Windows 10 files will be downloaded on the PC by July 29th when reserving, an upgrade alert will let users update their device once Microsoft starts the update process.

Worried about not receiving a Windows 10 upgrade alert? Well, in that case you can simply open the Get Windows 10 app that you should already have installed on your computer via an update.
